More stage for everyone. And protection for anyone
Carry a signed letter published in full in the volume edited by Renzo Santelli, "White Paper on illegal work. Stories of violations and abuses in the world of" Journalistic Documentation Centre, Rome 2006, pp. 86,87,88. This is an autobiographical tale of a girl struggling with the world of work after graduating from the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the University Sapienza of Rome, and so will the past few years of his life in our former barracks Sani.
PS: I thank my colleague Alex for lending me the book! Soon you will return!

I graduated in Communication Sciences at La Sapienza. Stubbornly I did not want to take the road of journalism schools. It seemed to me frankly absurd that after graduation I had to pay millions to be able to be practicing by enrolling in a futile two-year period in which I would have studied more or less the same things more or less than five unnecessary years of college. Better to work and improve the profession in the field, even if underpaid, rather than staying in a classroom listening to some nanny trombone strap that information. I started working after the first semester of college and I never stopped. Lucky you, you say. The point is that the highest honor the contract I've had in recent years has been the stage. I have done five so far. Five. The last will be completed in a few months and who knows, maybe I will be suitably trained. sin I have 28 years and a mortgage to pay. Too bad that in the meantime something has learned this trade in my current newspaper as an intern, although formally I do everything from services cover the desk (the first people known to be entrusted to nap).
I worked in the order for two printing offices, a satellite channel, for an agency for national newspapers and magazines. In television, always as an intern, I had a role in collecting and preparing the day's news of the launches for the news, I was two months and then I ran away perspective view of the non-existent. It took me a year to pay those two months. Basically the money I spent on telephone reminders to the administration.
In the newspapers I worked for everything to work: costume, film, economy, judiciary and media. I worked completely free for six months (do not call slavery, was another stage) for a large publishing group. Of course, not even the shadow of recruitment. As the second director colleagues and I was good I could continue working. Of course, the songs written previously considered a kind gift my company. But patience. Do not be perhaps the bones in this business? The mess has fortified generations of journalists? The point is that soon I will be 10 years that I arrange to do this job and I just arranged. Unprotected, with no certainty about the future and without a salary that allows me not to dine but to pay for the Billionaire home and survive. Backed only by an increasingly irrational passion for this work.
Now perceived as a smokescreen the phrase "you can use the newspaper as a window to let you know, even if you pay little and do not assume." If I wanted to be on show I went to Amsterdam! That definitely something I'd scrape together more than 20 000 pounds per 50 lines (salary when I worked for the agency). To save me from perdition, however, the oldest profession in the world has reached yet another stage. With just over € 800 per month I can say today that they have a fixed salary (while it lasts) in a national newspaper. And I do intern interviews, magazine cover, owner of the parts, design pages, find news and write, kneading agencies, select and prioritize as would a news editor or director with far superior to my old age. And instead of thanking me for all these possibilities that are offered here to write a piece anonymous coward on my insatiable exploitation ... Youth.
forget that external stakeholders are a journalist, for all purposes. In fact I have direct dial telephone, computer and e-mail business. unfortunate that after more than eight years working in the world of newspapers, hundreds of articles written and many compliments I have considered worthy of any stage. I ask no more. I do not want the manager, I do not control anything. I want to make the editor ordianrio for life. I just want to write. The ultimate career for me would be sent, not the director. But where are the newspapers that are still posted, as the figure no longer exists even in the contract? but what is the point then for me to talk about career nearly thirty years if they are not even the first step? What is the point imagine a pension to a contract who has never seen, condemned to be an intern for life?

Interview with Fabio Tarzia
E 'can be seen on YouTube a video interview on the convention mediascapes, Fabio Tarzia, Professor of Cultural Industry Analysis, Literary Criticism and Comparative Literature, History and Evolution of models of journalism in our Faculty. The theme of the video is the collective imagination. A great help in understanding the theory related to it. Beyond the interview, I'm really impressed by the lessons of our professor, one of the few years of university has tried to make us see the world, current events and history from a different perspective from the usual "mainstream ". He tried, with success, to give us the objective of observing everything we do with a remoteness that makes the analysis more objective, or perhaps even more fanciful. He taught us how the infinite network of the Internet is actually more real than a restatement of the web of life: a continuous return link to our daily lives, our culture, To our knowledge and expertise we have and we have not, and every topic of our discussion relates to another, in every field of human knowledge and personal experience of each of us and of us all as local, national, transnational, global . A word of advice to future students of Communication Science, if you have the opportunity to attend his classes, do it and will go out as having received a lesson in life, beyond a chair, a desk, a notebook.

PS: For the first time in four years of university life, I could hear the students clap a professor at the end of his lecture course!

"The first time I entered the barracks Sani ..." - My first time in barracks Sani ...
I receive with great pleasure, and public this memory of a dear colleague from University, his "first time" in the seat of our faculty. Andrea De Luca is also author of a blog much below the world of information, politics and social issues. You can find it among my "Blog to Watch" or click directly on http://andreainforma.blogspot.com/
The first time I entered the barracks Sani, it was the spring of 2006, I was impressed. For the structure, as indeed was once hosted a barracks but also for what was inside: the market esquilino. Colors and smells of people away. I immediately thought to myself, a comparison with the communication. People away near you. Just as happens with today's communication. Have the world at your fingertips, thanks to the discovery (I like to use this term) of the Internet as a powerful tool. The Internet is a real window on the world. You can exploit in any manner or in any way. And the means of communication which then contains all other media. And like a Russian matryoshka in practice, go to the larger and a smaller exits. Well, internet is really more comparable to the matryoshka. We could almost say that today all media (I do not want the 'communicators') are almost useless because the network has taken over the functions of other media. This thought threw it on the spot and I might write it on paper, but you want to put that in a few seconds can go around the world? Andrea De Luca

Where is Sani-Insan?!
La nostra fantastica Facoltà di Scienze della Comunicazione a Roma ha la sede principale Via Salaria, but the most popular with our students, where he attended most of our classes, is located in Via Principe Amedeo, 184, near the Termini railway station. Getting there is really easy, but in any case you can get help from the following map!
